Putting the ‘play’ into ‘workplace’, the brief was simple. Playroom is the User Experience LAB of Standard Bank, used as an innovation hub for off site team training & workshops. The strategy was to provide a facility that took employees out for their everyday environment into a space that would facilitate disruptive thinking.

Each room is playfully themed according to its function and purpose. Spaces ranged from focus groups, to training spaces to private work pods. Coloured glass doors divide the central auditorium space into smaller conference spaces adjusting the capacity to the needs of the group. An informal but festive breakout space was designed outside with a food truck, ready for offsite caterers serving an event or conference.
